importance of time

A student of Jhansi went to America for higher education. The hostel was just a short distance from the college.

The school timings were 8 in the morning. On the very first day this student was getting ready in his room, when it was eight o'clock. Still he reached the school walking from Ara. There he saw that all the students had come to class and the studies had started. The teacher allowed the Indian student to sit in the class but said, "Mr. Pandey, you don't come on time."

The next day, Pandey tried to reach the class on time, but again he was five minutes late. The teacher said again, "Mr. Pandey, you don't come on time."

Pande was embarrassed to be interrupted twice in front of everyone in the class. He saw that no other student came late except him. So, on the third day he made a special effort and reached the school fifteen minutes earlier. He saw that the door was closed and there was not a single student or teacher. When it was four or five minutes before eight, the peon came and opened the door. After opening the door, all the students and teachers came within two or three minutes. At exactly eight o'clock the bell rang and the studies began. Not a single student came late. ___ Pandey was happy that today he has come to class on time not late. But his surprise knew no bounds when the teacher again said, "Pandey, you don't keep track of time." Pandey said, "Sir, today I did not come late, but 15 minutes ago. Still you are saying so." To this the teacher smiled and said, "It is not good to be late even two or four minutes. But it is not good to come 15 minutes early and stand outside the gate. In these minutes you could do some study in your room." In this way the American teacher made the Indian student aware of the importance of time.
